What is cotton activewear?

Cotton activewear is workout clothing made from natural cotton fibers (usually blended with a small amount of spandex for stretch) instead of polyester or nylon. It's softer, more breathable, doesn't trap odor the way synthetics do, and doesn't shed microplastics in the wash. HALSY's cotton workout clothes are 95% cotton / 5% spandex.

Why choose cotton workout clothes over polyester?

Most activewear is polyester because it's cheap and stretchy, but polyester is plastic — it sheds microplastics, holds onto bacteria and sweat smell, and isn't biodegradable. Cotton workout clothes feel softer on skin, stay fresher between washes, and are a more natural alternative for pilates, yoga, lounging and low-impact training.

Y2K activewear is the early 2000s style of sportswear — low-rise pants, foldover waistbands, flared yoga pants, cropped tanks, velour sets, polka dots and leopard prints. HALSY reinterprets the Y2K and 2000s activewear aesthetic in cotton instead of the polyester everyone else uses.

Yes. HALSY's first drop includes low-rise cotton flares and a foldover-waistband flare pant inspired by the original 2000s yoga pant silhouette. They sit on the hips, not the waist, with a wide flared leg.
